Privacy policy
signal.travel is run by [operator's legal name], [registered address, country] ("we"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions and requests: legal@signal.travel.
What we store and why
- Your account: your email address, used to sign you in and to send you Drops (trip notifications), and your settings: language, display currency, notification choices.
- Travelers you add: name, and optionally date of birth, passport country of issue and expiry date, country of residence, visas you hold, holiday country, whether they use vacation days, and accommodation preferences. We use these only to check whether a trip works for them (entry rules, vacation days, rooms). We never ask for passport numbers.
- Watches, Pins and Drops: your searches, the trips you save, and a log of the notifications we send you, so we don't repeat them.
- Sharing: email addresses you share a Traveler or a Watch with. People you share a Traveler with see the name and whether trips work for them, never the documents. A Shared Opportunity link shows a trip's destination, dates and prices, without entry details or who travels.
- Booking clicks: when you follow a booking link, we record which one, to measure partner commissions.
- Push notifications: if you turn them on, your browser's push address.
Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6): providing the service you signed up for (contract) for account, Traveler, Watch and Drop data; your consent for cookies of affiliate partners and push notifications; our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and measuring commissions.
Cookies
The site itself needs no tracking cookies. Our affiliate partner's script, which lets partners attribute bookings to us, loads only after you accept it in the cookie banner. You can change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Where your data is
Your data is stored and processed in the European Union.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account, which removes your data immediately; backups expire within [backup retention, e.g. 7 days]. Fare data we collect contains no personal data and is kept for price history.
Your rights
You can download all your data and delete your account yourself in Settings → Privacy. You can also ask us to correct or restrict your data, or object to processing, at legal@signal.travel. You have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live. [name the lead supervisory authority]
If someone removes a Traveler they shared with you, or you remove one shared with you, it leaves your Watches straight away.
